What is Centre of Excellence?

Going above and beyond conventional teaching methods to embrace activity-based learning, the Center of Excellence is a project that aims to redefine education in Sri Lanka. It is the first-ever STEAM Education center in the public sector, with a goal of empowering the children of today to create the world of tomorrow.

What is STEAM Education and why is it so important?

STEAM Education is a world recognized approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. Breaking away from traditional teaching methods, STEAM fosters activity-based-learning. We have written an entire article of STEAM and its importance in here

Is Centre of Excellence for Ananda College students only?

The short answer is no. We are working with the Ministry of Education to develop a transferable framework for other schools to adapt and implement. Ananda College will be the first school to initiate this pilot project.
